New Dhamma Podcast - now available via iTunes!

Recently our old podcast service was taken out by malicious hackers. We used this as an opportunity to find a better way to offer our podcast and have come with a new podcast service that is now available via iTunes.

For those who don't know, a podcast is a continuous feed of up to date multimedia material, usually audio, that can be automatically updated. So rather than having to visit a website to manually download a dhamma talk every week, a podcast will automatically download it when it becomes available.

Podcasts are even more useful now that many people have smart phones. Many people are now able to listen to soothing, wise dhamma talks downloaded to their smartphones on the way to work to set them up in the right frame of mind for the day.

If you'd like to do this, you can now access the friday night dhamma talk podcast via iTunes by going to: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/podbean-podcasts-on-the-go/id973361050?ls=1&mt=8

Or even easier, download the Podbean podcast app from here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/podbean-podcasts-on-the-go/id973361050?ls=1&mt=8

Another way to get the app is to go into iTunes store on your iphone, search for 'podbean' and install the app. Once you've installed the app, open it, search for 'Buddhist Society of WA' and the "follow" the podcast channel.

Advice from an English monk (Part One)

Ajahn Brahm says good governance begins with keeping employees happy.

'When we talk about good governance, we should refer to the issue of authority," says Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera, or Ajahn Brahm as the English-born monk is better known. "Whether we run an organisation or a department, there will be three types of authority: conferred, assumed and earned.
