Ajahn Khemavaro was born in Vietnam in 1966. Completing university studies in the USA, he encountered Buddhism and meditation while working as a stockbroker in Bangkok, Thailand. Instinctively drawn to monastic life, he began training in the Ajahn Chah tradition at the legendary Wat Pah Nanachat in North East Thailand in 1999 and ordained as a Bhikku the following year.
Shortly afterwards, he travelled to Australia to spend several years practising meditation at Bodhinyana Monastery under Ajahn Brahmavanso. He currently resides at Wat Buddha Dhamma Forest Monastery deeply secluded in the mountainous regions of NSW.
Since 2005, Ajahn Khemavaro led numerous retreats in Singapore, USA, Norway and Australia. His deep heart connection with the Thai forest meditation tradition combined with a solid monastic grounding in the west make him a truly unique resource as a meditation teacher.
